Living in Adelaide

Adelaide is regarded as the food and wine capital of Australia, producing 50 per cent of Australia’s wine, and has more restaurants per head of population than any other major Australian city. It also plays host to many music and cultural festivals, and is home to the largest fresh produce market in the Southern Hemisphere. For more information, visit www.southaustralia.com/Adelaide.aspx.

Cost of living

When compared with other major Australian cities, Adelaide boasts a low cost of living, allowing you to enjoy a richer lifestyle. One of the main reasons for this difference is the low cost of accommodation and transport. Depending on your lifestyle and where you choose to live, you can expect to spend around AU$15,000 - $19,000 a year on living expenses (not including tuition fees).

Getting around

You can travel for free within the Adelaide city centre on the Adelaide free bus and the tram that runs between South Terrace and North Terrace.
